Happy Valentine's Day

I hope everyone has a wonderful day and night.  May you get everything you want or deliver everything your sub/slave/little one desires or you feel like giving them.  :)  Have a happy day.

The Ditch and the email

Five days before Christmas, we had a major storm here.  Start with a spring thunder storm.  Bright flashes of lightening and window shack claps of thunder.  It rained for hours, then it started freezing, then snowing.  We only got about 3 inches of snow but that was on top of the now frozen rain.

I've had my car for 10 years and have never ever gotten stuck.  I've been able to go where I wanted, when I wanted no matter the weather.  Okay, so there was one time when we got 14 inches of snow that no one was going any were, but it was the weekend so I didn't have to go to work.  I never miss work.

So I get in my car (now I'm wearing a skirt and new swede boots) that is how confident I will not have an trouble getting to work.  We have a very steep gravel driveway and we always say if we can make down it, we can make it any where.

So I made it down the driveway.  I did slide the last few feet (there is a 15 foot drop off on the other side of the road but there is a guardrail). I now have two choices - which hill do I want to go up.  So I take my normal route and turn left out of the drive.  I don't have any problems.....at first.

I start going up the hill and a car coming the other way driving in the middle of the road tops the hill and starts down it.  I try to move closer to the my side of the road because the idiot is not getting over.  I moved alright - right into the ditch.

I was not happy.  I tried for 20 minutes to get myself out of the ditch before giving up and calling R.  Now remember I'm only 7 houses from home.  R gets out of bed (it is only 7am, can you say grumpy).  He discovers that there is nothing on the front of my car to hook on to, we didn't know this since this is the first time in 10 years that I've had a problem with it.

One of our neighbors walks up the hill to help.  The men try to push my car out of the ditch with me driving the car but it is not moving out of it.  R finally gets into the car and puts it in reverse.  Floors the gas and it shoots backwards down the ditch back onto the road.  Then he attempts to drive it up the hill.

The neighbor and I get behind the car and push it up the hill.  Needless to say, I drove the car back home.

I then sent an email to my work that I would be in late because I got stuck in a bitch.  I did not realized until after I sent the email that I had a major typo.  So I had to send another one letting them know that it was "A ditch but it was a bitch".  My boss laughed about it.  They were just glad I didn't get hurt and my car was okay.

I did finally manage to make to work 2 hours late.  I'm sure they were happy about it because I had the meat for our luncheon that day.  They would have been a hungry bunch of people without me.

So this winter watch out for those bitches of ditches.  Drive safely.

The last month

I can't believe a month has gone by already.  Things have been very busy around here.  With the holidays starting up, they have kept me hopping and I haven't had much time to do much of anything but work and try to get the house ready for Christmas.

R has been working crazy hours.  This is his first day off in over two weeks.  With the murder/suicide here of a major NFL player and his girl friend things have been very busy for him.  That on top of his other work plus his freelance stuff has really been keeping him busy.

R's family will be at our house this weekend.  I've got so much to do still to get us ready and only of tonight to finish getting ready as his sister and brother-in-law will be here tomorrow by the time I get home from work.  Thankfully R is welling to help get the house cleaned up.  Yes, he is one of those enlightened men who will vacuum the house when it needs it.  (I once gave him a birthday card that said "There is nothing sexier than a man with a vacuum")

I know what I am fixing for dinner on Saturday when R's entire family is at our house, about 20 people or so.  But still need to figure out Friday dinner and Saturday/Sunday breakfast and lunch.  R has promised to do the grocery shopping.  I do love that man (even if he does spank me).

Speaking of spanking - R has made time for that -  I think they can always make time for that in their lives.  He's been doing sneak spankings.  Yes, when I least expect them.  R was setting on the stairs and I bent over and lend on them to talk with him and the next thing I know there is a hand landing on my butt over and over.  Standing in the kitchen doing the dishes.  Making the bed.  Picking up the cat toys off the floor so I could vacuum.  I'm starting to be afraid to bend over when he is in the house.  But it is hard to do things around the house without bending over.

I was able to get all my Christmas shopping completed and the presents are wrapped.  I still have a couple to put bows on (I "Martha Stewart" my gifts) but they sure look pretty under the tree.

Hope your holiday's are going well.

Whats yours like?

It's a game that one of my sister-in-laws introduced us too at a past family gathering. It is normal only the ladies that end up playing but the gentleman sometimes do play with us.  The game is fairly simple.  You wright down an object and then in one word describe (hint) what yours is like, then pass the word to the next person who describes in one word what theirs is like.  There is one person who is trying to guess what this word is.

Here is an example:

1st hint said  - Ruffled   the guesser couldn't guess the word.

2nd hint said - Metal (at this point we start laughing and asking if we should ask her husband for the key to her chastity belt because only two people have seen the word and we all think it is underwear. And ask our 1st word giver if she is really wearing ruffled undies).

Our guesser can not figure out the word.

3rd hint - White (very helpful wasn't it - yes I gave this one).  We are still laughing and I now know the word so that makes it even more funny.

4th hint - Fan   At this point we are laughing so hard tears are rolling down our faces and we can't look at each other because each time we do, we start laughing again.

Our guesser is looking at us like we are crazy (of course, so far it is all the sister-in-laws that have given the words and a twenty year old niece trying to guess the word)

5th hint - Rurrr  (noisy sound that the 1st word givers makes cause we're back to her giving a description).

My niece, I think has given up on us because we can't stop laughing and have to take a potty break.

6th hint- bright and since we were feeling sorry for her, we all look up at the ceiling.

She finally got it - Ceiling light.

Needless to say  you can have some real fun with the words.  We are suppose to be writing them down when we come up with them, so that we have a new batch of words when we next gather together. You can keep score by the number of hints they need to guess the word.

Hope you'll try this with your family and/or friends.  You can learn a lot of things you didn't know about them.

Some of the words we used are below:

Bra
First Pet
First Job
First Car
Purse
Feet
Hair
Eyes
Stove
Bed
Garage

Toasted Marshmallow Mattress

So we finally went and bought a new mattress.  We decided to go with Seally's version of the Temperpetic (probably spelled wrong).  We bought the semi-firm mattress.  What we got was a mushy marshmallow that you can't get out of without help.  I can't even get into it without a stool it is so tall.  We're having them pick it up and it's only been with us since last Thursday.  4 nights of sleeping (or trying to sleep) in a marshmallow.  I took to leaving a foot on the outside side of the mattress to give me leverage to get out of the bed.  R took to sleeping diagonally.  I think he thought if he took up more room he would stay on top of the mattress.  It didn't work.  Trying to roll over was another adventure.  You had to put your feet on the mattress and lift yourself up before trying to turn over.  It took some trail and error to figure that out. At least the cats loved the mattress.  They were sleeping quite well on it and decided it was a great place to spend their days.

I don't know what they will do tonight when we are sleeping in the guest room, in the less than full size antique bed.  It's going to be very crowded with 2 adults and 2 cats.  I might end up on the sofa.  We're going to attempt to go mattress shopping again tonight if they pick up company gets here early enough, otherwise I know what we will be doing tomorrow.  .

Thinking about going back to the old spring mattress at least we know we won't sink into it and not be able to get out.

So if your mattress shopping  - 1. Don't buy it from Mattress Firm they are 2 times higher in price and 2. Don't buy Seally's version of the temperpetic - they still need time to fix the problems with their version.
